On 8 March 2019 the legislative Decree  of 20 February 2019 was published in the Official Gazzette n. 57, containing the “Implementation of the (EU) Directive 2015/2436  of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2015, to approximate the laws of the Member States relating to trademarks and to adapt the national law to the provisions of (EU) Regulation 2015/2424 of the European parliament and of the council of 16 December 2015, containing amendments to the community trademark regulation”.

On 12 March 2019 it was instead published in the Official Gazzette n. 60, the legislative Decree of 19 February 2019 n. 18  “Implementing  the delegation according to article 4 of the law of 25 October 2017, n. 163, for the adaptation, coordination and unification of the national law to the dispositions of (EU) regulation n. 1257/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council  of 17 December 2012, implementing enhanced  cooperation in the area of the creation of unitary patent protection and to the provisions of the Agreement on a unified patent court, ratified and made effective pursuant to law 3 November 2016, n. 214”.

These legislative Decrees which amend and integrate the Industrial Property Code shall come into force from 23 March 2019 (the one on trademarks) and from 27 March 2019 (the one on patents), respectively.
